Friday Ramblings from An Author

It’s hard to believe that August is almost over. It’s the perfect time of the year to set writing goals for September and beyond. Maybe there’s a market you want to break into, a contest you want to enter, or even just a book you want to read when the leaves begin to fall. Speaking of which, I don’t know if any of you saw this on Yahoo! earlier today about new books set to be released this fall…looks like mainstream publishers have caught onto the erotica trend-

And many of us dream about our books becoming a series or even a movie, but how about food? Yes, now your book can even have its own line of soup-

Many of you probably don’t know that I started out writing children’s books. In fact, my first manuscript won The Loft’s Children’s literature Award. And some of you might know the book was published about four years ago by a publishing company that closed its door which left me looking for a new home for it. It’s taken me some time but I’m happy to share with you the news that The One and Only will be published in April 2013 by MuseItUp Publishing.

I got to see the cover of Just Vamps, an anthology featuring my short story called Fly By Night…yes, I couldn’t resist trying my hand at a vampire tale. Here’s a sneak peek at the cover-

And yes, the week wouldn’t be complete without me doing some of my shameless self-promoting. If you need to brush up on your point of view skills I’m teaching a workshop on that very topic for Colorado Romance Writers. It runs from Sept 3-30th so I hope to ‘see’ some of you there.

Have a good weekend and happy writing.
