For those of you who have been following the site for any length of time, you know the following story. Sorry if it’s old news to many of you but this quote made me think about it again.
It’s about the editor, who, very early in my writing life, returned a manuscript with a handwritten note telling me to do anything besides write. You’re wasting your time, she said. You’ll never be a writer.
This quote reminds me that luckily her opinion didn’t become my reality.
Call me a dreamer, call me stubborn.
But now call me a writer.
If you have the dream never let anyone rain on your parade.
