Friday Ramblings-First One of the Year

Happy 2016 to you all. I hope the holidays were a time of great eating, relaxation, and reading memorable books.

It’s a new year and time for new goals and new stories or articles, or whatever type of writing you do. So what are your goals for 2016? Anyone want to share theirs here?  Someone told me about this site called Goal Buddy that I’m going to use to see if it helps me cross off any on my to do list.

Mine include getting more self-published books out into the marketplace. Revamp all the stories that I get rights back to this year. Finish the two mysteries I started writing…well, I won’t say how long ago. Complete another Niki Webber mystery. Start writing a cozy mystery series. Get at least a couple of books written in two new shifter series I have planned. And as always, get a screenplay written. It might sound like a lot to tackle but I always say dream big.

One other thing I hope to get off the ground and running is my writing coaching services.

Speaking of teaching. A new workshop begins on Monday. First time I’m teaching it and the only time it’s being offered this year. It’s all about getting your story in tip top shape and perfect for anyone who wrote a story during NaNoWrMo and now needs to refine and polish it before it’s sent out. It runs for four weeks and if you’re not  member of the RWA chapter, cost is $25. Here’s the link if you or anyone else is interested. I know January workshops are a tough sell so if you could spread the word about this one, thank you in advance.

I’m half way through the second draft of my WIP and hope to have it to my publisher late next week. Then it’s onto the first new story of the year.

Have a good week, a successful 2016 with many sales, and happy writing to all.
