Friday Ramblings From An Author-Refueling

Happy April. The days are getting longer but the weather turned chilly again. I know spring’s out there somewhere.

I had a week off from teaching and tried to use it wisely. I had the opportunity to e-mail and chat with one of my private students who I’ve been mentoring for about six months. It’s been wonderful to see her go from a not so sure writing is for me to making her writing debut (probably next week). I don’t know who’s more excited and nervous, her or me. She’s found a genre she loves writing in the most, and decided just after Christmas that she wants to self publish and maybe one day, publish books by others. Looks like she might release her book next week so if she does I’ll share the cover with you. I might even twist her arm enough that she’ll do an interview!

Speaking of self publishing. The So, You Want to Self Publish Your Book, class begins on Monday…still plenty of space left if you want to join us. And the Great Beginnings class, we need more people to join us so it can run. I hate to cancel classes and disappoint students already registered so come on, sign up and learn how to make the opening chapters of your story shine. Details are on the writing schedule page of this site.

I did some organizing of my office too this week. It now also houses the jewelry I’m making and next week’s task is to start photographing it and loading it onto Etsy and Bonanza. I’ll let you know when that’s done so you can check it out. It’s all made from recycled pieces, and as I’m a writer I thought a unique idea would be to include the story of how the piece came together that I’ll include with each piece that’s sold.

That’s about it for the week. I’m now going to work on some more journals to round things off.

Have a good week and happy writing.

Almost forgot…thank you to Daryl for guest blogging this week!
