Friday Ramblings From An Author-Take It Slow Week

It seems like it’s been an odd week because it had a holiday sandwiched in the middle of it. I almost forgot that today was Friday.

I spent a good part of the day outside working on upcoming projects. One of those is finally deciding what to do with a site I sort of started a few years ago…yes, another one of my projects that needs to be finished. When I began self publishing I had an idea to chronicle my journey and post articles and tips about the process. Similar to this site, and it’s actually This Writer’s Life that sort of took over and the self pubbing one got pushed back.

Now I have a clearer idea what I want to do with it and my goal is to put it into action in the next few weeks. I’ll let you know how its progressing and when it’s all set up, I’ll include a link.

One thing I plan on working on for the rest of the summer are journals and planners for writers. I’ve had lots of students ask about  the best way to keep track of their ideas, story outlines, and how to monitor their progress so it got me thinking how I can help them.

Yes, I did work on my mystery last weekend and plan to do more this one too. And a few of you asked about my TV pilot. It’s one of the projects that I couldn’t seem to get motivated to finish in time for the deadline. I think working in a new format scared me the most. I always say we need to step outside our comfort zone once in awhile. I did that but then didn’t follow through. However, there’s always next year or the next contest and by then, (hopefully), I’ll be ready.

Have a good week and happy writing to all.
