I’m writing this early Monday evening. It’s overcast so sitting outside has lost its appeal.
It’s time for fiction. For that mystery that I told you I want to get finished.
I’ve been looking at words all day. I’ve been writing for most of the day. It’s my job, it’s what I do.
Netflix is calling my name…
Come on you know you want to watch a movie or another episode of that show you recently started watching.
Sketching and painting beckons to me.
Look what fun it’s going to be.
Sitting doing absolutely nothing while I listen to some relaxing music for an hour sounds like a plan.
Just an hour, that’s all.
There are distractions, lots of them. I’ve been there before, been down this street where you think, okay, tomorrow I’ll get back to my story.
Sometimes you do, sometimes you don’t.
Getting published isn’t always down to talent but perseverance.
The ability to punch away those distractions and the voices in your head that tell you to step away from that dream because there are fun things to do.
I fought it before. I’m fighting it again.
I want to finish my mystery. As soon as I’m done with this post, it’s time to work on my dream.
It’s similar to being a runner who crosses the finish line. Doesn’t matter if you come in first or last. Finishing is the key.
Want do you want to finish or even start for that matter?
