The last of the line prompts and this one is for a closing line and it’s-
Guess that’s how it ends.
This week’s writing prompt I took from my own book about writing prompts and the chapter on special days. Did you know that September 5th is officially Be Late for Something Day? What is your character late for? The bus, first day of school, an interview, appointment… Have fun and happy writing.
June is almost over and so is half the year. I’ve been reading lots of articles about setting goals and using the mid-year mark as a way to gauge how you’re doing. That’s what your character is doing too. What’s their goal, have they achieved it, and what were the consequences? Maybe they haven’t reached…
A new month of prompts. I thought we’d try a mix of everything we’ve done so far this year. Images, first lines, continuing stories, video prompts… For this first week, it’s an image. Your character has the same dream every night. In the dream they’re sitting on this bench. Does what happens in the dream…
I thought we’d use the next four days for some lines in stories. This first one can appear anywhere in the story- “Now’s not a good time.”
I thought we’d use a saying for today’s prompt and it’s- Looking for a needle in a haystack. (Maybe your character says it or has lost something).
This week I thought we’d try a line that occurs in the middle of your story. And that line is… It happened once before. It could be either part of narration or a character’s dialogue. Have fun and happy writing.
