Authorship, Publishing, Books and More

Tuesday Guest Blogger-Mageela Troche

Our guest blogger today is Mageela Troche…

When did you begin writing?

I wrote my first book at four. My parents loved it. I was everything from author to illustrator to publisher. It was only one copy but that started the dream. But I really started to write with the goal to make a living off it back in 2007.

 What’s been your biggest challenge?

I think my biggest challenge is thinking my work is good. I think something could be better. I’m like that Oscar Wilde quote about spending the morning editing and put a comma in then in the afternoon I take it out.

Why did you choose your genre?

I love the romance genre. I was a fan first. But when it came to writing I have always wanted an escape and romance fit that perfectly. And I don’t want to spend hours and days of my life writing a novel and not have a happy ending.

What writing tips would you like to share?

Emotions are the same throughout all societies. And remember that when writing your characters emotions. Anger, love, happy, fear or whatever else you include in your story make sure it’s real for the reader to feel. I recommend Creating Character Emotions by Ann Hood. It’s a great book.

What are you currently working on?

I am currently working on a late Regency romance between an alpha hero and the woman who tames him.

What would you like to promote today?

Today, I want to share Highland Scandal. This is a second chance romance set in the highlands of Scotland.
