Welcome to today’s guest blogger, Pia Manning…
When did you begin writing?
I turned to writing several years ago as a way to fill the empty hours following an extensive surgery. Recovery can be a long and frustrating process and at times I needed to take a mental vacation. I began spinning stories in my head until I just had to write them down. From there a book evolved. Lol, I remember my hands shaking the day I hit ‘send.’
What’s been your biggest challenge?
Staying focused. There will always be life’s interruptions that require your time and attention right this minute! But non-essentials wiggle and worm their way in and compete for time too. It’s so easy to get sidetracked and so hard to sit down and write.
Why did you choose your genre?
I write erotic romances because they’re just so much fun to do. I love the women in my books, they’re strong willed and have agency.
What writing tips would you like to share?
Sit and write. Stories crashing around in your head? They’re looking for the exit and they need your help. Give in to the urge and write ‘em down. A nonexistent book won’t be published! I also suggest thinking about marketing. Websites, blogs, FB, Twitter etc. Planning before publishing will make life easier for you later-wish I had.
What are you currently working on?
I’ve three projects whirling in my air space. I’m working on the 4th book in the Star Brides series. I’m hoping to launch a new series, tentatively titled Pinecone Creek, and a horror novel that isn’t in the romance genre at all!
What would you like to promote?
