When did you begin writing?
I have been writing since I could hold a crayon. Years ago, my mother gave me a note I had written her when I was four. In it, I expressed my anger at having been punished and pointed out that she was to blame as well. It was written in crayon on a piece of notepaper. I have always expressed my thoughts in writing. I think they give my words more power.
What’s been your biggest challenge?
Managing my time. In addition to writing books, I writing and edit for corporations and professional service firms. It is sometimes hard to balance the immediate need to earn money against the need to finish a book.
Why did you choose your genre?
I am in love with love. I believe it conquers all. Sometimes, I am amused by it, other times I am appalled. Still, other times it leads great amusement or deep sadness. Love comes in all shapes and sizes, yet the road to love is filled with great mystery and so much adventure. How could I not write about that?
What writing tips would you like to share?
Just do it! If you have a story to tell, get it down on paper. Too many people walk around with great stories in their heads, but never take the time to write it down. You need to commit and write!
What are you currently working on?
I am attempting to finish the Book 5 in my Feisty Lawyers series (romantic suspense), tentatively called “The Martimus Project.” After that, I am going to begin a new series, about a flamboyant lawyer who is also a vampire.
What would you like to promote today?
My next book, “The White House Wedding,” will be released February 14.
