Wednesday Guest Blogger-Meet Martha O’Sullivan

Today, we’re officially launching the new Wednesday Guest Author spot here at This Writer’s Life. Please welcome Martha O’Sullivan. And please say a thank you to her for taking time to answer these questions by checking out her work.

TWL-Why and when did you decide to become an author?

Martha O’Sullivan (MOS)-Writing was a childhood dream and always in the back of my mind. I started writing seriously about ten years ago as my children got older.  It’s been a huge learning experience and a roller coaster ride.

TWL-What’s a typical writing session like for you?

MOS-Now that my girls are raised and on their own, I write most days on my lanai. I’m fortunate enough to live in Florida and the weather is conductive to that.

TWL-What have you learned most from being a writer?

MOS-That I can do anything if I put my mind to it. It’s one of the hardest, all-consuming, frustrating, disappointing, rewarding and satisfying things I’ve ever done.

TWL-What’s been the biggest struggle and how did you overcome it?

MOS- Not having enough faith in myself in the beginning when I was continuously rejected. But my gut kept telling me to keep going and I listened.

TWL-What’s been your biggest victory? In writing,

MOS-Christmas in Tahoe, which came out in December 2022. Despite a year full of curve balls, I still got it out on schedule without compromising the book.

TWL-If you could give advice to your pre-author self, what would it be?

MOS-Buckle up!

TWL-What writing tip would you offer to a new author?

MOS-Be open to advice and never stop learning. And never give up.

TWL-What would you like to promote today?

MOS-Last Chance, the third installment in my Chances Trilogy.  The timing is right as it takes place in the winter in Lake Tahoe and kicks off on Valentine’s Day. It’s a friends to lovers contemporary romance with a happily ever after ending. Second Chance is my first book (and the first book in the Chances Trilogy) and will always be the book of my heart, but Last Chance ended up being my favorite book in the Trilogy. I unwittingly saved the best for last!

Last Chance, The Chances Trilogy Book Three by Martha O’Sullivan

Moira Brody knows Paul Webster better than he knows himself. But neither one of them know that he is as desperately in love with her as she is with him. Still, she isn’t going to wait around forever, especially on Valentine’s Day. When Paul learns that the hard way, he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. He can’t lose her. Or let the past dictate the future. These friends turned lovers will have to look at each other with fresh eyes and brave hearts. But not everybody is on their side. And Paul will have to choose between following his head and listening to his heart. Or risk losing Moira forever.
