It’s almost the end of the year. Although, September has become my favorite time to set new goals for the following 12 months, I also use the turn of the calendar to plan.
Here are some questions I always ask myself to help me plan and stay motivated and I hope you’ll find them useful too-
What Did I Achieve This Year?
Hopefully the list is a long one, or at least contains one important thing. For me, it was writing book 14 in my Kalispell Shifters series. It could be that you took the gamble and self-published or that you actually started writing.
What Didn’t I Achieve This Year?
Figuring out what you didn’t achieve is also important because it helps you decide why. Maybe it was time, maybe it wasn’t as important as you first thought.
What Do I Feel Was My Biggest Success?
Not only write down what you feel was a success but why it was a success. What did you do to make it happen. For me, it was getting my Budget Smart Girl site make on track. I’ll be honest some weeks were hard when I’d been doing nothing but write and had to come up with ideas and write even more posts, but I stuck with it. I guess the why was because I was motivated.
What’s on your 2021 List and Why?
The why is the biggest thing. Be brutal, be honest. If something’s not personal to you, not in your heart, it’s never going to happen. If you just want to write for fun, that’s great but unless it’s something you’d move heaven and earth to do, you’re not to stick with it long enough for it to become a success.
As we round out the year, I’ll be giving you some time management and motivation tips you can use for your 2021 writing schedule.
This is a great reminder post. As someone who didn’t know where 2020 went, I think it’s time to take stock and be more mindful of my time. Thanks for this!
