The first money I earned as an author was through a contest I entered.
I’m a huge fan of contests because they give you a deadline, sometimes they give you feedback, and if you’re lucky enough, some money.
I get lots of emails from people wanting to partner with me to promote products and services, many I turn down but it’s a joy when I hear about something that I feel will be helpful to you.
Paula Sheridan from Page Turner Awards sent me details about the contest she and her husband founded. I checked it out and I’m happy to be partnering with them (yes, full disclosure I do get compensated if you enter the contest through the link I’ll give you).
In previous years they’ve partnered with many big name brands connected with the writing world such as
like ProWritingAid, IngramSpark, Campfire, and Coverfly.
It’s an international writing competition open to writers at any stage—from aspiring authors to established novelists and screenwriters. Now in its sixth year, the 2025 competition runs from Feb 24 to June 30, followed by judging, finalist announcements, and a live online awards ceremony in November.
Here’s the link and details and feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. If you enter good luck to you.
