Tomorrow’s there’s another heat advisory. It’s going to be super hot and humid so I’ve taken my office outside today. Right now, there’s a slight breeze but I feel the humidity starting to gather so I’ll enjoy the great outdoors while I can.
Seems I’m not the only one who thinks this year is flying by at supersonic speed. I can’t believe that July crossed the half way point and before we know it, it’s going to be August. The summer writing retreat is almost at the half way point too.
I’m starting to look at fall and my goals. I’ll be publishing my last back title in early August which means I need to start writing again
Yes, I admit, I haven’t kept to my schedule, haven’t kept to my plans and I know I must. I have at least five stories started and not finished so they’re at the top of the list.
One great thing about re-releasing back titles is you get to gauge your progress as a writer. The first ones I re-published almost made me cringe and I kept thinking, did I really write like this? The last of the batch, I’ve been able to see a different writer, more polished, more hitting the right notes. I have a feeling that when I return to the five stories, I’m going to make lots of changes.
Take some time to look over your older stories and I’m guessing you’ll also see lots of progress too.
My fiction writing time used to kick in when I’d finished work for the day but since I’ve been teaching and coaching, I feel like I need to turn off from all things writing. For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been sitting outside, using my mini watercolor set to paint flowers and mountains while binge watching Lost. For those of you who don’t know, Lost was one of my favorite shows. It’s amazing when you go back to watch something again, you realize how many things you missed first time around. So, once the Lost binge watching is out of the way, it will be time to write another story.
And we’re three followers away from reaching the 1,000 mark. Didn’t quite make it to the mid July goal but I know we’re close and thanks to everyone who followed this week.
That’s about it for this week. Have a fun weekend and happy writing to all.
