It’s March and it probably comes as no surprise that it’s snowing again. I can’t remember the last time there was a winter with not just snow but heavy snowstorms every few days or so. I think lots of people will appreciate spring this year. I know I will.
The February classes are history and so are all my projects. Now it’s a new month and two classes begin on Monday. Plotting Your Novel boot camp and How to Write a Romance Novel. I haven’t taught the How to Write a Romance class in a long time so I’m looking forward to it.
I always tell everyone to go outside their comfort zone, and for me, that means learning something new from time to time. This week, I’ve been learning how to create print book covers using Affinity Designer software. There’s been a learning curve and a lot of swearing!
Anyone else use it for graphics? I think once I’ve get the hang of it, it’s going to be fun. As I want to start creating more journals and planners, it’s a skill I’m forcing myself to master. I also struggled formatting the graphics for the interiors and almost gave up, but reminded myself I went through the same hurdle when I started formatting e-books.
Depending on my schedule, I’m going to try a Saturday Seminar post here at TWL next week. I’ll let you know the topic during next week’s Ramblings. For now I’ll post a writing topic and anyone can ask questions through the comments section. However, if the idea really takes off maybe we’ll take it live one week. Any topics you’d like to see?
And finally, a thank you to Joan for guest blogging this week.
Looks like another snowed in weekend…at least I’m getting through the books on my winter reading list a lot more this year. Every cloud has a silver lining!
Have a good week and happy writing to all.
