Friday Ramblings From An Author-May Day

A new month and where did April go? I know I say that every time the calendar flips over but April seemed to fly faster than ever. A quarter of the year has gone and have you met some of your writing goals? The beginning of a new month is the perfect time to sit down and see what you’ve achieved and what needs to be kick started.

Monday is another release day for me. It’s back to a cowboy tale with Connor my fifth book in the Big Sky County series. It’s sort of a follow up to book four where I introduced Connor’s ancestor’s and his soon to be love interest Jennifer. Here’s a look at the cover-

Right now I’m working on book seven in that series and about 5,000 words into it. The story revolves around Connor’s sister, Katy. Up till now the series had unrelated stories and characters but  I’m enjoying finding a common thread and featuring some of the same characters in each story.

I’m almost done with the first draft of my next book in my Writing Genre Fiction series. I’m having great fun creating prompts and exercises to move the muse into top gear.

The Crafting the Short Story workshop started today and the synopsis class begins on Monday…yes, still plenty of time to sign up if anyone’s interested. Next month it’s the continuing series class. After that it’s two months break when I hope the weather will be perfect and I’ll get lots of outside writing done ready for fall publishing.

Have a good week and happy writing.

  1. Woe, I’m impressed that you can fit so much writing in, but I guess you are full time. I am one of your online Writing Magazine students and am finding your advice very useful ????????☺️

      1. It’s funny, I forgot that I was following you, so when I was looking through WordPress yesterday – I found your posts! BTW I sent a Tutor Query form through to WM yesterday too, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes to get to you. I had a productive day yesterday with my novel. I wish I didn’t have to work and could just write all day, it’s so much more fulfilling. I will have to work harder ????

    1. Hi Kay, I haven’t received the tutor query yet but I’ll respond as soon as I do. Glad to hear you had a good day writing yesterday. I find some days I can write almost non-stop and other days aren’t as productive. Only wish I knew why. All the best, Susan.
