Authorship, Publishing, Books and More

Friday Ramblings From An Author-More Projects Finished

Despite it being sort of a laid back week, it’s been a productive one too. I’ve turned two of my now retired workshop topics into books. Almost done with those. I even got the images chosen and book covers created. I’ll be debuting those soon.

I also got the first draft of my WIP completed and hope to have that finished and to my publisher by next weekend. I’m also working on a first chapter for the next book in my new Regency Rakes and Rogues series so I can include it as a bonus in book one.

Lots of software aimed at writers has been on sale this week. I was tempted to buy a few of them but then decided to wait. However, when the opportunity to buy Scrivener (while it was on sale at The Writer’s Store), came my way, I couldn’t resist. I’ve heard so many good things about the program. I’ve had lots of students ask me questions about it but have had to send them elsewhere for answers. I haven’t used it yet but I can’t wait to dive in. As someone who writes fiction and non-fiction, it has templates for both so it’s going to get used a lot. And it even has templates for screenplays…maybe now I’ll actually get one written!

August will soon be history, workshops start again, and I have a busy September and October ahead. I like to think of the turning and falling leaves as a start of a New Year. There’s less pressure to set (and yes, break), resolutions, than on January 1st.

So what are you writing goals for the rest of the year, even next year? Feel free to share them here.

Have a fun week and happy writing to all.
