Friday Ramblings From An Author-Summer’s Almost Here

Only one week left of spring 2015. Next weekend I’ll begin reading the first book on my summer reading list. I’m not sure exactly which one it will be. Do you sometimes find you’re in the mood for a certain genre? It’s not necessarily the book you don’t like but sometimes you’d rather read something humorous or mysterious instead. I’ve never been known to give up completely on a book. As a writer I think all stories deserve a second chance, even if it’s another read of the first chapter and nothing more.

This week I tried to get more chores crossed off my to do list so I can concentrate on getting book projects finished, and yes, sitting outside reading as we head into summer. I’m planning to take every Friday off during August. I said that once before and it never happened but I have a busy September and October coming up so I think it will be perfect to relax and recharge.

I’m about 20,000 words into my WIP. I’m formatting another book that I’ll shortly have the rights back to. I’ve had a new cover designed, and for something different for the reader, I’m adding the first chapter of a book I plan to work on in fall.

And speaking of WIP, that’s what I’m about to do right now. A few hours of writing and listening to some music as I work.

Have a good week and happy writing.
