This site started as a way to keep myself accountable for my writing. My intent was to use it to keep myself to a writing schedule. My first idea was to keep it private. However, I knew other writers might be struggling too so I turned it into a blog. It’s grown, it’s evolved, and this week we hit 700 followers! Thank you to everyone who’s spread the word and to all of you who’ve been around since the beginning. My next goal is to reach 1,000 followers by the end of the year. It’s early May so I think adding 300 more fellow creatives is very doable.
I’ll share another goal with you. I’d love have TWL eventually be on Writer’s Digest’s best sites for writers list. I know I have a long way to go to make it even more valuable to writers and authors, but I’m working on it.
On Monday, another boot camp begins, self publishing is the topic. It’s full of content, handouts, and even a prize drawing at the end. We still have room if you’re interested. Also, if you’re thinking about joining a critique group or being a beta reader check out this class by Debbi Cracovia called Critique with Grace and Compassion for Writers, Beta Readers, Contest Judges and Critique Partners.
You can sign up for the classes at http://www.oirwa.com/forum/campus/
Be sure to scroll down to the May section.
And no, you don’t have to be a member of OIRWA or be a romance writer. These classes are for all genres, even for non-fiction writers too.
I’ve had a three day break from teaching and have taken advantage by reorganizing my office (yes, it was a mess), and getting my May to do list put together. Lots of projects I want to get to, now we’ll see if I can clear out everything in the May to do folder.
The weekend weather is supposed to be great so outdoor chores call my name…
Have a fun week and happy writing to all.
