Monday Motivation-Rejection Letters

Rejections arrive in many ways these days. When I started writing there was only one way you got a rejection letter and that was in the mail. I’d watch the mailman walk by the window to see if he had a manila envelope in his hand.  I always used those types of envelopes with my submissions and my heart would sink if I saw him holding one. 99 percent of the time it meant my story had been rejected.

It’s easy to give up when something’s not working out for you, but that’s when successful people pick themselves up and start over. I looked for motivational quotes that fit with the theme of this post and found this one that I thought was the best because it seems very fitting for the writing life.

Men’s best successes come after their disappointments.
Henry Ward Beecher
