Whether you’re taking the NaNoWriMo challenge or just attempting to write a book, even a short story, some days it’s an uphill battle.
Even when you’ve been writing for years. Even when you do it for a living and your bank account is relying on you to write, there are days your motivation’s going to feel like it’s on vacation.
In fact, I’ve found if you wait until you are motivated to write, you’re never going to do it on a regular basis.
They say a habit takes 30 days to form so don’t wait for the motivation muse to descend upon you. Sit down, put your fingers on the keyboard, or pen in hand, and write.
Yes, even if it’s awful, even if it’s nothing to do with your story. Do it and do it for 30 days and see what happens.
True words. I try so hard to keep up with blogging and social media that I often forget to do any actual writing!
