Story Sparklers…Let’s Try Something New
Most of us are stuck at home these days. Many of you might be working from home and needing to take a break now and then. With that in mind, I thought we’d try something new. And even if you haven’t written anything before and one of many who’ve decided to write a book to pass the time, I hope these fire up the muse.
I’m calling them story sparklers. Each post will feature a different type of prompt. While they’re intended for fiction writers, non-fiction writers, and even anyone who journals, can give them a try too.
I can’t wait to hear what you come up with.
This first sparkler is actually taken from my writing prompt book and the chapter on story fragments.
Here are fragments for three possible tales and all you need to do is create a story around them.
The moon shone over the lake. Alan saw a figure moving in the trees.
It was Tuesday and it was raining again. Wasn’t it supposed to rain on Monday?
Why do they always discontinue the flavors I like the best?
Have fun and happy writing.
Do we use all three excerpts in the same story?
You could give that a try if you want.
