Welcome today’s guest blogger, D.V. Stone…
When did you begin writing?
I’ve dabbled on and off for years but when I got laid-off about eight years ago the time was right. My first manuscript is still a work in progress. Aimhirghin, Kingdom at a Crossroad is an epic fantasy which needs so much editing I don’t know when it will see the light of day.
What’s been your biggest challenge?
I have two that go neck and neck. Time or lack of, and craft. Since I also work fulltime it’s hard squeezing in writing, marketing, and maintaining a social media presence. Editing and I have a love hate relationship. I’ve learned so much but so much needs to be learned. The comma in particular is my arch-nemesis.
Why did you choose your genre?
I’m multi-genre. Lately contemporary romance is where I spend my time, but I also write fantasy with romantic elements and mid-grade paranormal. Since I read most everything that’s the way I write. I particularly enjoy romance because it give us hope. We know no matter what happens we can dream about the happily ever after.
What writing tips would you like to share?
I think most of us especially in romance genre know where we want the book to go. When you get stuck, go to the end and work backwards. It helps me figure out the middle.
When I’m creating I keep the main character picture in the header of each page. Google images of who you think your character looks like then when you ask them the important question of “What do you want?” it’s almost like they are there with you.
What are you currently working on?
Rock House Grill is due for release on April 6th. I’m busy writing the second of the series Jazz House. Though some of the characters are in this book too, I’m thrilled with the new lead female.
What would you like to promote today?
I’m excited to talk about Rock House Grill the first book of the Impact Series. It already has a pre-release 5 Star review. This is a story that began during the NaNoWriMo challenge a few years ago. It’s been a long, long haul getting the editing write. I have so many people who helped. Rock House Grill is near and dear to my heart as a former EMT. Each book in the Impact Series will focus on a different first responder.
Thank you so much for having me today.

Good luck with the book.
Thank you ????
Sounds like a really interesting book, D.V. And I found the idea of keeping a photo in the header as you write to be great! I’ll have to try that. Best of luck with your book and your series!
Thank you, Barbara. I lke a visual reminder. D. V. ????
