Writing for long stretches can take its toll on your body, especially your hands and wrists causing pain that can make you want to quit. My tip of the day is make sure you take frequent breaks. Walk around, make a snack, or even take a nap.

Friday Ramblings From An Author-Edits and More
If you’re taking part in NaNoWriMo, I hope it’s been a productive first six days for you. Remember Sally Bridgewater who I mentioned a couple of weeks ago? She’s not only taking part in the year’s NaNoWriMo but tomorrow…drum roll please, she’s going to attempt to write 50,000 words in one day. Hats off to her…
NaNoWriMo-Day Six
Tip of the day is have you figured out whether you write best when you have music playing or even the TV switched on? Perhaps you like the sound of silence. I used to have all my fav CDs blaring away, then switched to having the TV switched low in the background, but these days it’s…
NaNoWriMo-Day Five
The fifth day of the challenge and hope you’re meeting your daily quota. If you’re not then maybe today’s tip will be of some help. If your fingers are hovering and not moving because you’re stuck someplace in your story, no problem. Skip ahead to a scene that’s not giving you some much trouble. You can always come back to…

NaNoWriMo-Day Two
Hope everyone got off to a good start yesterday. My tip of the day is to think like an athlete. Before they compete they warm up first. Sit down and free write for five or ten minutes before you start your NaNoWriMo project for the day. It’s the ideal way to get the muse into top gear and eases…
Monday Writing Prompts-Turn Back Time
Daylight Savings kicked in over the weekend but what if you could turn back years instead of just one hour? Your character invents a watch that lets him or her do just that. How many years do they set on the dial, why, and what are the consequences? Have fun and happy writing.
NaNoWriMo-Day One
It’s day one of NaNoWriMo, and like I promised, I’m going to try and post a tip a day. First one is find a comfortable place to write. Do you prefer working at a desk, or having your laptop on your lap? Maybe you even prefer to curl up in a comfy chair and write…
Friday Ramblings From An Author-Last One of The Month
Just one more day and NaNoWriMo begins…are you taking part this year? I’m going to do my best to post a tip on this site each day. As always, I’m making my goal 50,000 words by the end of the month but not all for one book. I’m hoping to get work done on two new stories in…
