Friday Ramblings From An Author-Learning to Love Block Working

Another week comes to an end…and February is also slowly drawing to a close.

Did I tell you I’ve been trying something called block working? Someone told me if you pick one project and just work on it, work on it, and nothing else, you sail through your to do lists.

I hated it at first because I enjoy having lots of projects going at the same time (you’ve probably already guessed that), but now I’m starting to like it. I do think I’ve gotten more done this month.

Anyone else use this method of working and if so, like it, hate it?

Yes, I’ve finally finished working on the lessons and the workbooks for all three sessions of the summer retreat.  I used to listen to the radio while I worked but now I’ve switched to podcasts. This week it’s been a travel topics. Anyone have a podcast they can recommend I listen to in the coming weeks?

Now, I have one project done, it’s time to move onto the next which I think will be the classes and workbooks I’ll add to this site. Is there anything you’d like to see, anything you feel is lacking in the world of writing?

Also, what would you like to see posts about in the coming months?

One thing I’m considering for the future (fall?) is publishing a digital newsletter for writers. It would focus on writing tips, markets, and also goal setting and motivation. I know it would take a lot of work, and for that reason, I couldn’t offer it for free but I would try to keep it as low cost as possible. What do you think? Feel free to reach out to me at writerslifeblog@gmail.com.
