A long weekend ahead and wouldn’t you now it, it’s going to rain for the next three days. I had hopes of heading outside to catch up with my reading but looks like I’ll be doing it inside instead.
Today, I got rights back to my remaining books and it felt, well sort of strange. As most of you know I’ve been a hybrid author for the last five years, some of my books were with a publisher, others I’ve been self publishing. As of today, I’m a totally indie author and now own rights to every book I’ve written. It’s liberating, it’s makes me think of where I started and how I got here.
Would I ever think about offering my books to another publisher? The answer is no and not because of any bad experiences. I’ve been lucky enough to be published with some great companies and ones that respected their writers. However, it’s a new time for writers, a new chapter for me, and it’s time to be my own publisher.
It’s one of the reasons I’ve decided to overhaul my self publishing site because I believe anyone with ambition and drive can be a successful author. I hope my new site is going to be the vehicle and platform for as many people as possible to live their dream of not only being a published author, but making money as well.
Next week, the plotting your novel boot camp comes to an end and then for the next three months, it’s time for the virtual writing retreat. I hope you’re going to join us. Here’s the link if you want to sign up and remember if you take all three sessions, you’ll be eligible to win a month’s free coaching and mentoring with me this fall.

Even though it’s offered through a chapter of Romance Writer’s of America, you don’t have to be a member and you don’t have to be writing a romance novel…it’s for all writers. If you have any questions, just e-mail me at writerslifeblog@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
For everyone in the US, have a fun and save holiday weekend, and to everyone, happy writing.
As it’s a holiday, no Monday Motivation next week.
