As 2013 winds down it’s a good time to start thinking about your writing goals and what you want to achieve in 2014.
I keep a notebook next to me when I write and as well as jotting down character’s names and ages, etc., I also use it to keep track of the date and how many words I wrote that day.
The other day I found notes I’d made…yes, two years ago I’m embarrassed to say, about the stories I wanted to work on in 2012. I was shocked to see I’d completed only two of them. Not that I hadn’t been writing but other stories crept into my head and took center stage.
Needless to say I’ve added them to ‘what I want to write in 2014’. My list is already looking full and now if I could just find a few more hours a day!
How about you? Do you find you meet more goals if you write them down?
I’m almost at the end of the second draft of my first story in the new trilogy. As I’ve been writing a couple of different things have popped into my head about the two other stories. I guess that’s what’s so fun about writing, it’s an ongoing process.
About two and half weeks left until the end of the year and I hope to squeeze in a few more good books to read. What are some of your favorite books of the year? What would recommend to others?
Have a good weekend and happy writing.
