Whether you’re a writer, artist, musician…whatever, we all get into a rut. A place in our heads (and sometimes our hearts), where we feel there’s nothing more creatively we can give.
We burn out and the muse goes bye-bye.
It’s happened to me lots of times and one thing I’ve found that helps is to change where I usually write.
If it’s indoors, try going outdoors, out to nature, out to your garden. If you write in the bedroom, try sitting at the kitchen table, even try going to the coffee shop down the road.
Sometimes simply changing where you’re at gives you the motivation to keep writing and kickstarts the muse.
I find just switching to pen for a bit, rather than typing, helps.
